Are You Ready For March in Muskoka?

Hi everyone! How was your winter?

Long? Mine too.

There’s good news, though – Spring break is right around the corner! The days are already feeling longer, and the sun is starting to feel a little bit warmer, so it’s time to start making plans. March in Muskoka is an exciting time of year because there are so many fun things to do in the area.

Here are a few things you can do this March in Muskoka.

Get Your Skate On!

If you didn’t get enough of the Winter Olympics, don’t worry – you can still get your winter sports fix! The Ontario Winter Games have been going on, and you can watch Speed Skating right here in Huntsville at the Summit Centre. If you want to work on your own skating, Muskoka is offering free skating in March, just jump on over to to see the schedule.

Fire and Ice, Muskoka Style

Have you made the trip to Arrowhead park yet? There is nothing quite like skating through a torch-lit trail to really become part of Nature, and there’s no better time of year to try it than right now! It’s not too cold, even after sundown, so go give it a try!

There are always things to do at Deerhurst in Huntsville: snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, downhill skiing at Hidden Valley Resort, horseback riding, and so much more! If you’re looking for one place to try everything, this is the place to go!

Muskoka Is So Sweet….

We have all heard of Winterlicious, but have you heard of Maplelicious? I think I may have made it up, but it’s catchy. Here in Muskoka, we are all about MAPLE; I’m pretty sure everyone has local Maple syrup in their fridges. I personally would put that S*** (Stuff…I mean STUFF…) on everything if I could. Head out on the Muskoka Maple Trail and try something new this March.

Muskoka North Good Food Co-Op is hosting a working on March 3, Back Yard Maple Syrup Production.

The Muskoka Talent…

We all know that Muskoka is a beautiful setting, but do you know how many talented people are in the area? There are so many fabulous entertainers! Here are a few choices for you:

Spring Ahead Into Cottage Season…

March 22nd marks the annual Cottage Life show at the International Centre in Mississauga. Meet 600 exhibitors showing boats, docks, builders, contractors, innovative building products, green solutions, decor and style, arts and crafts, food and entertaining, water toys and more. Now a 4-day show! What a blast.
