The Sandra La
We had the opportunity last summer to spend a weekend at this beautifully decorated cottage on Cecebe lake. This cottage is so quaint and comfortable–from the canoe hanging from the ceiling to the open concept kitchen, comfortable bedrooms and spacious bathrooms… All of these amenities contributed to a wonderful weekend. The setting on the lake is so peaceful it is just a wonderful getaway!
When I stayed at the cottage in late July, I have many special memories. My favorite times were sitting by the roaring campfire with family and friends, ‘til all hours of the night. The sound of the water lapping on the shore and the call of the loon were so mesmerizing. Looking up at the millions of stars, the smell of the fire and above all the peace and tranquility that swept over me, virtually erased all the worries and cares of that ‘other life’.
Better than any therapy you could get, I felt totally rejuvenated and ready to face what life had to offer. Another very special time for me was spending several hours out on the pontoon boat with a very special friend. We fished for hours and thoroughly enjoyed the pristine lake with all of its inlets and special fishing spots. That day is etched in my memory forever.
No one will ever know how much that time at the cottage meant to me. I am truly grateful that places like that exist and I was privileged to be part of it for that time in my life.
Winter at the Cottage
I just wanted to say that my friends and I loved the cottage, and had a wonderful time.
The location is fantastic, beautifully decorated and nicely equipped. We loved the huge layout inside and the hot tub outside. Would love to see this in the summer! Plus the snowmobile trail runs right past the cottage……couldn’t be more convenient. Thanks again and we will see you next year!
We have been going up to this cottage every summer for 4 about years now. We absolutely love it up there, it is always the highlight of the summer. So cozy on the inside and beautifully landscaped on the outside. The lake is so peaceful, calm and quiet, sitting on the dock in the evening looking up at the starry sky makes for a great escape from the busy city life. It has become our rented home away from home. Looking forward to heading up this summer!
It was a beautiful short vacation for the whole family we really enjoyed it, we will definitely be visiting again. Thank you for all your help, and thanks to the owners for letting us make memorable moments at their cottage.

Amazing stay. Amazing place!
We had a wonderful stay at the Jaffary cottage. It gave us real taste of ‘Canada’ with simply stunning, stunning views.
We split our group between the two buildings- which was perfect. It allowed us all to share the whole place (choosing to spend as much time as we wanted together) whilst having a wonderful sense of privacy and space to relax. The bravest of our group took advantage of the ‘bunkie’ for the ultimate ‘Canadian’ experience!
The on-site canoes and kayaks allowed us all to maximize our time on the water (life jackets come with – legal requirement to wear them) resting up, sitting on the dock, soaking up that amazing view. We did also try fishing – but didn’t catch anything even with the fish jumping!
We had fire in the ‘fire pit’ most night and roasted marshmallows. The BBQ (charcoal) was a handy option for cooking in the evenings. Kitchen was great, it had all the amenities you will need. Although arguments about taking turns, loading and unloading the dishwasher didn’t stop.
We also took advantage of a few days trips to nearby Huntsville to stock up (must try the butter tarts) and nearby Algonquin National Park for a days hiking. The Algonquin visitor centre is also worth a visit and has a great shop and huge viewing platform out the back.
If you can brave the queues ‘Webbers’ burgers on the way back down to Toronto is certainly worth it – Chocolate milkshake and cheeseburger a must!
Highly recommended cottage and we already miss it. We hope to return soon.

Old-fashioned Cottage charm with all the modern conveniences!
Our annual retreat to this Lake-of-Bays cottage is a summer highlight. With its idyllic location, offering expansive views over the Lake and hills beyond, this is the best place to relax and take in Muskoka living at its finest!
To while away the days, there are canoes, kayaks and a paddle board. Swimming off the dock into the clear, fresh waters of Lake of Bays is therapeutic! The morning sun invites you dockside with a steaming cup of coffee and a good book…and then the day just disappears all too quickly.
The cottage itself has recently been renovated and offers all the modern conveniences. There’s plenty of room if you want a little privacy. A large screened in porch with lots of seating offers the perfect setting to overlook the Lake and not be bugged by mosquitoes. A fully equipped kitchen, with a dishwasher, makes cooking meals a cinch. With Dwight and Baysville a 15 minute drive away, one can easily grab supplies, meals etc. without making it too much of a hassle.
The best! Thank you Eric and Aeyliyah for sharing your piece of paradise!

My family and I spent a wonderful few days at the cottage last summer. Situated at the end of a long forested driveway, it perches on the Canadian Shield with an absolutely spectacular view of Lake of Bays. The interior is warm and welcoming, with a spacious main room and well-appointed adjoining kitchen. Overlooking the lake is a large screened-in veranda – an ideal place to relax and enjoy the view and the fresh air during the day, and to dine and converse into the evening. Three bedrooms, including a cozy loft – and also a comfortable private bunkie – provide plenty of sleeping space. In front of the cottage, a short path leads down to the lake, with easy water access off a dock and plenty of water toys.
We loved our time at the cottage. We would definitely go back!

We’ve had the pleasure of staying at the Jaffary Cottage on Lake of Bays several times. We love everything about it. It’s been renovated with all the amenities and yet somehow keeps its cozy, country feel. The screened in sunporch is spectacular for outdoor dining and morning coffee, the kitchen is fully equipped, the bedrooms are very comfortable (our favourite is the loft) and the whole property is beautiful. An early morning kayak and sunset on the dock can’t be beat. We highly recommend it!

Rocknest on Lake of Bays
We have just returned from our week at Rocknest on Lake of Bays. It is apparent that the owners have kept it up quite well and many some smart improvements over the years. My family had a wonderful time. The house provided great spaces to accommodate everyone’s interests and needs (reading, working on puzzles and playing cards). The house worked very well for my mother who has mobility problems and has a hard time with stairs. We enjoyed the cabana and the dock and found the water temperature to be perfect.

We had a wonderful time. My kids certainly enjoyed themselves. The cottage is lovely and suited our space needs. The grounds are gorgeous .. the nicest in the neighbourhood!
We had an absolutely wonderful vacation at Cinque Terre! The property offered so much and there was a great combo of relaxation and activities. The cottage has beautiful yet cozy finishings and it was great to be able to have access to drinking water from the tap and laundry. We made great use of the kayak for paddling down the Waddy’s creek
We loved our cottage experience and all of my numerous questions were quickly answered by the staff at Muskoka Vacation Rentals. The cottage was great!
We had an absolutely amazing time and loved the cottage. Everything we needed was there! Beautiful home and awesome vacation spot!!
